Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (managed by AWS Cognito).
Usage data: We collect your watchlist preferences, filing interaction history (reads, bookmarks), notification preferences, and device tokens for push notifications.
Analytics data: We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics including page views, feature usage, and session data. This helps us improve the service. No personally identifiable information is shared with PostHog beyond your user ID for session continuity.
We use your information to: deliver real-time 8-K filing alerts for companies on your watchlist; personalize your experience and notification preferences; process subscription payments; improve our service through aggregated analytics; and communicate important service updates. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Your data is stored on AWS infrastructure in the US East (Virginia) region with encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Authentication is handled by AWS Cognito with secure token management. API keys are stored as SHA-256 hashes — the plaintext is shown only once at creation.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Filing interaction data (reads, bookmarks) is retained for the lifetime of your account. Analytics data is retained for 12 months. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
We use the following third-party services:
Each service is subject to its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
If you enable push notifications, we store your device token to deliver filing alerts via Apple Push Notification service (iOS) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android). You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or the app settings page. Disabling notifications does not delete your device registration — it will be re-registered if you re-enable notifications.
We use essential cookies for authentication session management. Our analytics provider (PostHog) may use cookies or local storage for session tracking. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies through your browser settings, though this may require you to sign in again.
